Privacy

Personal information,
handled for a clear purpose.

This page explains the personal information Eightjune.com collects through its public forms and email-verification process, why it is used, and how verification providers fit into that process.

01 · What we collect

Only what the form asks for.

Depending on the form, this can include your name, email address, organisation, interest, message, Tide List listing details, source page and submission time. Email verification also records whether the address was verified, the verification method and verification time.

02 · Why we use it

To process the request you chose to send.

Submitted information is used to manage enquiries, Tide List submissions or corrections, and Tide List letter subscriptions. Verification information is used to confirm control of the email address before a submission is accepted.

03 · Verification

Google, Microsoft or one-time code.

Gmail addresses may be verified through Google and Outlook, Hotmail, Live or MSN addresses may be verified through Microsoft. Other addresses use a one-time code sent by email. Eight June does not ask for or store your Google or Microsoft password.

How verification works

The provider confirms the account;
Eight June confirms the match.

For Google or Microsoft verification, the provider authenticates you on its own secure service and returns the account information needed to confirm that the verified email matches the address entered in the form. For one-time-code verification, a temporary code is generated for the requested address and expires after a limited period.

04 · Storage

Verified submissions are stored privately in WordPress.

Accepted submissions are stored in the Eight June WordPress administration area and are not publicly queryable. Temporary verification sessions and OTP checks expire automatically.

05 · Security

Verification codes are temporary.

OTP codes are time-limited, resend and attempt limits are applied, and the verification code itself is not stored as readable plain text in the normal submission record.

06 · Your choice

Do not submit information you do not want us to receive.

You can close the verification window before completing verification. In that case the form is not treated as a successfully verified submission.
