Gemstone science since 1972
SSEF presents itself as an independent Swiss non-profit foundation and traces more than fifty years of scientific work in gemmology. Its education department has offered gemmological courses since 2001.
Testing can travel beyond Basel
The institute currently publishes testing prices, submission guidance, report verification and on-site testing information for locations including Bangkok, Hong Kong and the United States. Its work covers coloured gemstones, diamonds and pearls.
